When someone dies in an accident caused by the careless actions of a driver, a lawyer representing the family of the deceased might advise them to file claims for damages after the investigation is completed and once liability is clearly established. Sometimes, the careless act may simply be becoming distracted for a moment. If negligence is established and the family chooses to file a lawsuit, the lawyer might advise them about the types of compensation they might receive, which can include hospital bills and funeral and burial costs.
